I pulled a BIG DUMMY this morning.
I got almost all the way to my parking spot for hunting and it suddenly hit me that I had hung my bow in the garage after I shot it after my last hunt to uncock it. It was still hanging in the garage!
So, now I am back home and will go up to hunt this evening.
Sure is a bright full moon out there....

Not exactly the bow. But, I did forget my release one day. I didn't realize it til I was in the stand. I decided to shoot a few target arrows, fingers. It actually proved to be pretty close point of impact so I stayed and hunted. Nothing materialized from that hunt. When I got home, I went and bought a cheap release to keep in the bottom of my pack as a backup. Still there and never used hunting...just practice periodically to make sure it is good to go.

Once when I was 12 years old, my Grandparents took me Squirrel Hunting. We got to our Squirrel woods and my Grandmother asked my Grandfather "Where's your shotgun?" He said I thought you placed it in the trunk & my Grandmother said "I thought you did". Well it turned out we were at the woods with my Grandfather's 16 gauge sitting back home. This has never happened to me though......YET.......

Not while hunting yet, but have driven to gun club range (20min from house) get the gear out, get set up and discover ammo left at home. I usually take several shooting options, so at least it wasn't a total wasted trip.

Yep. Last morning of a deer hunt in Wi. Went out with a buddy, had to move a trailer out of the way. Set gun case with rifle against the garage, moved the trailer, got in the truck and off we went. We got to the parking area, and I realized what I did. I barely got the seat tipped back for my nap when I hear him shoot. It was a pretty short hunt that morning!! I didn't even get a chance for a nap.

Went to the strip pits a few years ago. Went to unload the boat from the back of the truck and had left the trolling motors and battery at home.

Left my cocking rope hanging on hook in my shop yesterday evening. I can cock my bow without it I discovered. That is one thing I like about my Wicked Ridge and the accudraw mounted in the stock over my Mission XB320 and the rope I need to pack.

I've left ammo, orange hat, vest with game pouch and different things while hunting different things over the years. Just last week I drove in town to the other house to do repairs and left the keys at home.

Left my quiver/arrows home once. Left bullets home another time. Also, one time forgot to load the gun on a turkey hunt. Cost me a real nice Tom.
Usually, it's the minor thing that pops up that throws you off the normal routine that causes these things to happen.

Wellllll... I didn't get to hunt at all today. It was very windy @ 25 mph and I was going to go anyway. Got to my parking spot and it started to rain. I sat in my truck hoping it would clear and my phone rings. It was Scott Hurt from Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry. He said he had 220 pounds of deer meat for my church's food pantry if I could meet him in Evansville. That made my mind up.. Tomorrow is another day.. I met Scott, got the meat and it is now in the freezer at church. I'm home waiting on momma to fry up some chicken..

Yep, I forget my bow from time to time -- in fact, already once this year: www.hunt-indiana.com/post/408886/threadI've left my bow on the side of the highway once after a hunt and got all the way home before realizing it. LOL!

I've never done it, but I talked to a guy at the gas station this morning that did! It was good seeing you Woody, and you were in better spirits than I would have been.
