The neighborhood I live in has purchased 2 fields with a tree line separating the two, directly behind my house for future development. The edges of the fields are maintained by the same company that takes care of all the common grounds in the neighborhood that our HOA dues pay for. Would these fields be considered common ground? And if so as a resident of the community could I legally hunt with my bow along that tree line?

If the property is owned by the HOA, they would be the authority over what activities can be conducted there. They may be considered 'common ground' but common ground does not necessarily mean 'public ground'.
