In this particular instance. I'm not confused about the hunter orange reqirement for a blind when the hunter is completely concealed by the blind.

O.K. Here's where my confusion sets in. On a property that I hunt (private although I know it doesn't matter) there is a pile of dirt near the edge of the field. It's pretty big, 30+' at the base, and 12' tall, and has been there long enough that it's overgown with weeds and bushes. I dug a shelf into one side to make a flat spot where I can place a chair. In front of the chair, and to the left and right I drove a couple of "T" posts into the ground and put a piece of camo burlap on them in the shape of a flattened "U" so that I'm concealed behind the burlap from the shoulders down on 3 sides, and below the crest of the top of the dirt pile so I'm not visible (and can't shoot) from behind me (the open part of the "U"). I look out over the top of the burlap "walls" to hunt.

I'm confused. If the ground blind is constructed so that the hunter orange that the hunter is wearing is visible above the blind, (i.e. i'm sitting in the blind but my hat and maybe the top part of my hunter orange vest over my camo coat is visible above the walls of the blind) then I wouldn't need hunter orange on it then, or would I?
I'm confused because:
1) The dirt pile and not the ground blind is stopping the visibility of the hunter orange in the one direction, not the man made ground blind. (but the dirt pile was man made years ago)
2) The hunter orange is visible above the walls of the man made ground blind, but not from the side where the dirt pile is. The dirt pile has been there for years and is all overgrown.
So, do I need to have 144 sq. in. of hunter orange on each wall of the hide in that situation, and do I need to have any hunter orange on the opposite side of the dirt pile? Or is the hunter orange that I'm wearing satisfy the requirement?
