I have family in the Morehead area east of Lexington. There were cougars in the area in the 1980's - my cousins would see one occasionally. I know that experts say there are no black ones, but they told me that a black one was seen at one of the ponds one year. I think they only saw it a couple of times.
Then again, they used to make and drink their own joy juice too - maybe that black one was chasing the pink elephant. I got into some a few times with the boys. There is a reason they call it bust-head.
