JMHO... The Mako doesn't offer anything better than my current selection of knives. The skinner might be a handy time saver if I were an outfitter / guide and skinning many animals every season but for me personally, I will stick with my Havalon and basic 4" folding hunting knife. Replacement blade cost is much better with the Havalon too.

It's a recreation of the wheel. I'll stick with my knifes, after all I only clean 1 deer a year.

It's a recreation of the wheel. I'll stick with my knifes, after all I only clean 1 deer a year. I was just thinking they are trying to create a better mouse trap .... I think things like these might be handy for an outfitter or processor that does several animals a year. I bet they require technique to be honed over time and use .... something I would never accomplish because I dont do very many a year. Ill stick with my knife.

Like I said on Woody's FB post-I've had a Wyoming knife for several years that is one tool that will do both operations of these two tools...came with it's own leather belt holster and blades can be just as easily replaced all at once on one tool.
