My friend traded for a nice elk rack This sapling caught my arrow This guy came from the western coast of canada. Him and his wife are on a trip across the country. He was a very cool guy and we traded some bow staves. I got a vine maple, yew, and ocean spray stave. He got some snakey osage staves. He found a primitive archer magazine with pictures of his Bow of the Month in it. A map showing where everone traveled from to get there

It was a week of nonstop visiting and laughing with new and old friends. I traded for and was given so many things I lost track. I'll try to post a picture of some of the stuff I brought back. I got enough buck skin to make a jacket for evenings around the campfire. I'll be going to a similar shoot in Marshall Michigan in a few weeks. Its smaller than the Classic but still a lot of fun. There were 665 registered traditional shooters this year at the Classic.

That looks like a lot of fun the big question is ....... DID YOU CLEAN UP OUR CAMPER WHEN YOU GOT HOME? I got home late so I just grabbed the important stuff. I'm cleaning it out good tomorrow. I'm thinking about selling it and building a tear drop style camper next. I can get some osage logs sawed into thin siding slats for it. It would be cool to have an osage camper. I want something big enough for the wife to camp with me if I can talk her into it.

Here is all the stuff I was given, traded for, and bought while at the Classic. Leather straps, stingray skin scrap, Boa skin, draw knife, double bit axe, hatchets, Cholla cactus for knife handles, and a lot of bow string material and serving. I came home with some different bow staves as well. red streaky osage, persimmon, yew, pecan, vine maple and mulberry. I also got a roughed out bow made from ocean spray. Its very small diameter but super dense. Its like a piece of rebar. The bundles are hill cane for arrow shafts. I got a good deal on some buckskin. I'm going to have a jacket made from it. I'll wear it around the fire pit in the evenings.
