FWIW, I loaded up some +P when I first got my Ruger LCRx which is also a .38 special snubbie. I was all over paper at 5, 7 and 10 yards. After a few different experiments, I settled on an old Elmer Keith cowboy load with semi wadcutters. It turned out to be more accurate and way more fun to shoot. I don't care that it's under 1,000 fps and would rather enjoy shooting it.

Thanks!
The Ranger-T 127g +P+ is the load that he said to use, but I can't use them in the Kahr.

Well, I picked up Steph's gun tonight and it seems that I went completely off the rails from where this thread srarted.
We ended up getting a Smith and Wesson model 642 Airweight hammerless .38 special +p.
Price doubled from the Rock Island, but I think we made the right investment.
