The only problem with owning vast amounts of .22 rimfire ammunition is shelf life (?) When my Grandfather passed away, he had some .22 LR ammo that was around 20 years old. I found that 40% were miss-fires. Don't know if today's .22 rimfires are formulated to having a longer shelf life or not. The oldest "shooting" ammo I own is around 8 years old and they shoot fine. Got several boxes of "collectible" of various brands of .22 ammunition, some 60 + years old; that I am certain won't fire, due to their age.

I had some Winchester Wildcats that were close to 30 yrs. old[bought circa 1980] that I shot exclusively in my Marlin 39a. I think at most, over the yrs. I had maybe 2 misfires. Not sure, but I think those were the only misfires I've had in my entire life.

I've had more than 2 in one session - and it wasn't the gun.

I've had hundreds of missfires hence why I want CCI instead of cheap Remington's or Winchesters the good Remington's and good Winchesters are pretty much right there with CCI. But the cheap stuff doesn't cycle as well and fails to fire

My old 10-22 eats it all up. It's a chipmunk killing machine. I just get depressed when you have to get lucky to buy more rounds. I don't need match grade or overpriced. And I certainly don't need thousands of rounds sitting on my shelf.
I bought a pellet gun this year just because of the insane 22 ammo issues we have been dealing with past couple years. It's fun but I like my 10-22 much better. So does my wife.:-)

Walked into Dicks got 100 rounds and left some for some one else buy. Guys buying/hoarding 1000 of rounds at a time is the problem.

I can't imagine buy anything less than 1000 rounds, but I can't be the problem. It's probably those rich guys fault buying up 5000 at a time.

Not sure where you would fit in?

Took an extra day off after the holiday and went galavanting around with the family. We stopped by WalMart and Dunhams in LaPorte, WalMart in Valporaiso, WalMart and Gander Mtn in Merrillville, Bass Pro in Portage, and Cabelas in Hammond. Saw a few boxes of 17hmr and 17wsm in two of those stores. Not a single round of 22lr or 22 mag to be had otherwise. I didn't expect any different, been like this for years around here. Other than getting raped at a local gun store for some CCI recently $14/100, been nothing to go around. Stay with the pellet rifle for now to scratch the itch.

Where you located? If you're close if trade ya for golden bullets. I've never been picky on what 22 I shoot.

Well I'm in Parke county so I doubt we will be able to work a deal out on a scale that is beneficial to any of us but I really appreciate it

I have someone that I previously had quite a bit of respect for, until I found out that he is getting in boxes of bulk ammo and selling it by the baggy at grossly inflated prices.
