has turned into the Apathy 500 for me in the past few years. I'm talking about attending the 500. For decades I've loved going to the race. I really have enjoyed riding to the track in years past. In the past few years, the track has become a nightmare for motorcyclist. It is quite ironic that some of my worst experiences in the last couple years has actually been trying to get in to the Moto GP, a motorcycle race. I will admit that part of my lack of interest is the fact that since I started land speed racing I have little desire to watch a race. I'd much rather be competing than watching. That said, I do hope the race is attended well and those that go have a great time. As for today, my wife and I will be riding the twisting in southern Indiana on the Beemer. I have a feeling that as my grandsons get a little older and possibly gain some interest, the desire and joy may come back. We'll see. As for anybody going...have a great time and be safe.

Not my thing either... I don't think I have ever watched the race on TV from start to finish. Absolutely no desire to go to the track..
More power to the folks that like it and do go...

I'm at the track now. This will be my 39th race. Went to my first one when I was only 5yrs old. Will say I'm a little on the sleepy side. Raced the sprint car at Paragon last night. Back at home about 130a.m. headed to Indy at 630. Just hope we have a safe and fast day.

Just curious, as a racer does it make much difference to you to sit and watch a race vs being in the race?

As for watching a race. Other than Indy. I hate it. I won't go watch a sprint car race. I just have to much passion to be in the seat. I hate to go watch.

I fully understand Will. I have lost several races. Will loose several more. But there is always a race every year that you put on your MUST WIN list. And if you loose one that closely it hurts dearly. And if you feel like you lost one more mentally than mechanically it hurts even worse.

Attended race #18 yesterday. The track never ceases to amaze me. I get chills just pulling in the lot at 6am every year. Its something you need to experience just once in your life. TV does not do any of it justice at all. Cant wait for next years race only 369 days to go till #100 and once again i will be perched high in the Northeast Vista !!

I would live to. It all depends on how we are running with the new car by then and most importantly finance.
