Looks like she's having a hard time, but I know there's plenty of food sources around now. Looks like she has many ticks on and around her ears. Have you actually seen her??

I haven't seen her. All the deer I'm seeing are fat and happy ..
Not a lot of meat on those bones..

That's some of them new fangled interior antlers! Tough to judge them on the hoof.

She needs a couple double quarter pounders with cheese! I think it could be a variety of things, nursing multiple fawns and not keeping up the calories, unable to eat, old age maybe? I truly don't have a solid answer

She does look unusaully skinny. I have pictures of deer that are just infested with ticks on their ears and on the back of their neck. They are so bad that they lose a 3rd of their ears. It looks like couliflour on the back of thier necks. They have to be mikserable. I just wonder if effects any antler growth due to stress of the ticks.

Injury? Maybe some road rash on her hind quarter, upper front quarter, and lower neck.

Looks to me that Doe is just old, Woody. Seen lots of photos of Deer that have CWD but I doubt that this is the case here. If there were a way to tranquilize her, then examining her tooth wear, this would confirm her actual age and health. You'll need to contact an INDR Biologist to do this though.

She looks bad, but I'm not sure she needs our worry. Two years ago I got summer pictures of a buck with a 3rd man beam that looked as bad as this doe that we too thought had roadrash and would not survive. Fast forward to Mos October and he started showing up on camera again looking healthy and I ended up getting pictures of him chasing does.

You know I don't know. Who wants the skinny girl in the red dress...
What would the deer management people do? I'd sure like to know what to do with her, but nature will take it's course. It sure doesn't look natural. Maybe they're just so overpopulated around your place that someone needs to thin our the herd. ;-)

Looks like she had a A fawn or three and some other parasites maybe some worms? This and she looks OLD. She could have a protein deficiencies. It happens in older horses also. Doesn't matter what they eat or how much. Till the blood protein levels get up.

I'm not a good age guesser maybe, but I really thought she doesn't look much older than three to me My question is... What would you do if she came strolling by on a crisp November morning in that condition?
