We're getting a heavy one now. I'd say this is a bit unusual, but I'm glad to see it today.
I just about had a heat stroke yesterday, and I wasn't out very long. I painted a few feet, got shaky, so I went in to eat. After waiting an hour, I painted a few more feet, got shaky and sick to my stomach. I'm done for the week, rain or not.

We're expecting some moderate to heavy rain here starting this evening. Our temps haven't been all that bad with temps in the upper 70's to middle 80's. Humidity has been unusually high for our area though; just been very gloomy weather today.

This is seriously bad stuff for the farmers. The fields out here look terrible. A few weeks ago I mentioned an article that classified 15% of the fields as poor. I'd guess it is more like 25-30% now. Talking to a farmer friend last night. He was bemoaning bean root rot and thin crop development. I see it in my modest bean field, not to mention my alfalfa mix field. That field is worthless other than to attract and hold deer

Make that 1.14" of rain as per Beck's weather station report. They are 1.5 miles due north of my place.

We're still getting it. I haven't talked with my BIL in Owen County to see about their crops. They lost 1/2 when we had the drought a few years ago.
It wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't rain in August.

What makes it worse are the low forecast temps. We need warmth quickly to dry the fields. Ain't going to happen in the low 70's. In my area, that is the next week's forecast. Planting rice next year. Hope deer like rice......
