Commercial fisherman are conservationist as well if they took all the fish then they couldn't be commercial fisherman anymore I feel the true issue we ALL need to be fired up about is the lack of a solution for the invasive carp species that's where the catfish decline comes from we are still catching as many catfish as we have but we know keeping everyone is not sustainable and have our own size rules that are in fact more stringent than the DNR as for the fisherman on interstate waterways I can not say either way. This is like saying only gun hunters can shoot bucks... What about the bow hunters who have been doing it for years upon years? (I havent been doing this for years and years but my mentor has)Just because catfish tournaments have grown in popularity doesn't mean we should be pushed aside not just anybody can go out on these rivers and successfully net fish you don't just drop a hook in the water and hope for a bite you have to learn your prey and put your nets where they will be it is not as easy as it sounds. (Not trying to start a fight throbak I just want to make sure that people who read this get a chance to see how both sides feel best of luck! May we be blessed with a solution that pleases us both)

Commercial fisherman are conservationist.. I have been to about every mtg in Kentucky and all mtgs in Indiana I am 10 minutes from the Ohio River, Saying CF are conservationist is like calling Jeffery Dahlmer a Chef,, Conservation means Nothing thing to them. I heard a CF say it didn't matter to him if he had to put fish back he would but he would kill them first ,,, The Demand from the paylakes is Killing the River the GREED of the Commercial Fishermen Fishing a now UNREGULATED Resource is the problem.... Trophy bucks can be grown in less than 5 yrs.. throphy Catfish 20 plus yrs to reach throphy status,, I turn every catfish I catch loose, most I Know do the same.. CF turn nothing loose they can make a dime on.. Money and Greed control Commercial fishermen not Conservation, they think only of today... The DNR Bioligist along with the KY Bioligist came up and suggested these Rules, backed by their studies.. Ron Brooks said at a meeting in Paducah that CF were good at what they do and they can ELIMINATE a SPECIES well thats what they are doing to Catfish

I see pole fisherman keep or kill stuff all the time "haha lets shove this gars nose in the sand or break it off" and litter the waterways with trash and worm containers and fishing line! Like I said in my previous post I don't know about the commercial fisherman on our interstate waterways but the ones I know on the interior waterways are pretty good people in fact they would be able to catch the same amount with a pole. Catch and release Pole Fisherman remind me of the people who support peta "because they do so much good for animals" or like my previous post they are the gun hunters who come out and say we want to allow only guns no archery and we want to have a stricter limit on what size guns you are allowed to use Or someone who doesn't think that trees should be harvested because they are big and majestic and it took hundreds of years to make them. its also funny how people warp facts to make them work in their favor 20 years for a trophy size cat to grow on these waters? Come on how big is a trophy? Cats grow based on food availability more than years. What if we made it so the only way you could hunt deer was with a tranquilizer gun and you would just snap a pic then let it go?

The proposed regulation is 1 Blue or Flathead over 35in. a day..1 Chanel over 28 inches PER DAY None under 13 inches every thing else UNLIMITED Whats wrong with that?? the Inland CF are worse of the lot ,Dont try to expound to me the Virtues of Commercial Fishing not going to work. sat in among a room full of CF more than once. I know what they are about, MONEY there is plenty of room for someone who wants to catch fish for a meal not the intent to eliminate that, Remember There are NO regulations on Catfish In Indiana's Commercially fish waters NONE and they are a really effective predator on Asian Carp one Question and I would really like to hear the answer If they can do just as good with a pole why Nets?

But at least now you also know that there are commercial fisherman who have souls lol thanks for sharing your view because I've never heard any tournament fisherman who had any sense
