Just curious..
Why some years Crane is open for draw hunts and other years it employee only hunts?

Depends on whether the ICO and Crane Biologist feel there is a need for a herd reduction that particular year. I was told this year, they opted to forgo the regular public hunt due to their feel for current deer numbers on base.
There is still a disabled hunt as well as employee hunts this year.

Depends on how many the cougar eats that particular year.

I have heard they are ribeye in the sky. Anyone know if there is any truth to that? I've always heard they are most often compared to horse meat..
