I have two favorite squirrel guns, both guns were bought new and have downed many squirrels. One is a 1971 model 60 and the other is a Marlin model 780,both are equipped with Simmons 3x9 scopes.

I am taking the spirit gun. A muzzleloading 12ga shotgun made by CVA. It is the trapper model. 1 oz. of #5 shot boosted by 70 grains of Goex FF powder. Deadly combo and the squirrels don't seem to mind the sound of the shot. Maybe they think its thunder.

I might break out the Mossberg 151M-b or FWB 124d that I used as a kid, but I'll most likely take the Kimber .17 MachII.

I love my old cheap 10/22
Bought it used many many yrs ago. Put a red dot scope and it is my chipmonk killing machine. I go after squirrels every once in a while. May have to upgrade to a real scope one of these days

I'm partial to my old trusty marlin lever action 22. Hard to justify spending big $ to shoot squirrels. If anything I would like to get a quality air gun like the gamo and give one of them a try someday
