Wyoming deer.
I hear a lot of people say they can't afford it who have smartphones, satellite TV, eat out every week, etc.
For most, It's all about priorities.

Montana for Muledeer. Its not that bad of a price if you do a DIY trip. With a little time spent investigating and getting some contacts from others that have done it. You can do it pretty cheap. Its all about asking others that have done a DIY and had success. It also helps to have a group to share in the expenses. Gas, room and board etc. We bring a freezer along and keep it in our room. When we went to WY 2 years ago We processed it our selves and did'nt waste $76 for a processor to butcher a 90 lbs antelope. We did not let the meat freeze but kept it really cold. Put the freezer on a timer and it ran for 5 hours and then was off for 12 and the back on again. Worked great.

I got 21 acres on the west side of the Mussel shell river North of hwy 200. River is on the east side and BLM land to the west.

I've been on many out-of-state hunts since the mid 1970's in several States. However, I now just hunt on my own property here in Kentucky. Too much of a hassle driving way out to other States, and I don't like to fly.

Leaving for Colorado 1st elk rifle on Tuesday night. We are DIY. This will be my 2nd year going DIY, first year I had 7 elk with in 75 yards. The guys Im going with went last year DIY and killed. Nothing like sleeping in a canvas tent 10K up and on the side of a mountain.

Nothing like sleeping in a canvas tent 10K up and on the side of a mountain. Back in 1991, out on a Colorado Hunt; I had a very nice Bull Elk cross about 175 yards from where I was setting. HOWEVER, he was way deep in a very steep ravine, in that We wouldn't be able to get him out. It was a very rough and dangerous area, so I passed up the shot and just watched him.
