With the cool temps and high winds it was a great day to be outside doing some of the last things that need to get done before hunting season starts. I was walking in my woods when I hear this commotion that sounds like a turkey when suddenly a young turkey about the size of a chicken comes flying right at me then flies up to a tree limb right over my head. I was watching this bird and when I look down one of my labs has a young turkey in her mouth, the bird was on it's last breath. I feel bad the bird died but after all that's what labs are trained to do FETCH. This is not the first time this has happened just about every year my dogs have caught a live pheasant. I took the bird home and cleaned it, I will save it and cook it up with a pheasant at a later date.
