97.6% of the time black. Sometimes if the timing is right I will add creamer that my wife has in the fridge. I am actually too cheap and lazy to add anything to it most of the time.
I do the same when fixing lunch meat sandwiches. Bread and meat only. Everything else is just for frills that cost money and takes more time to prep... but it does make the sandwich taste better. Maybe that is my only psychotic tendencies this study talks about.

The last year that I worked, I met several younger people who did not drink coffee. I was a bit surprised; I thought it was a "must have" in college.
I have a hypothesis on why. When I grew up, mom would make coffee in a percolator. This was a delightful smell in the morning even if one didn't drink it. The aroma was irresistible, enough so to desire acquiring a taste for the stuff.

Hot, black and strong. Really like the Big Easy Bold brewed in the Keurig.

I now drink only 4-cups/day with creamer only, no sugar. While in College, I drank it by-the-pot, when studying for exams or writing-up or doing research.

A lot of people must buy those "liquid candy bars" at Starbucks.
