32000+ deer killed over the weekend so far. I expect number to jump tomorrow when everyone hits the processors If all 92 counties had equal harvests, that would be 350+ for each county for just two days.

2012 was a record year.
A little over 37,000 deer were killed opening weekend..
This year We are at ABOUT 35,000 so far ..
This is approximate so let's leave the arguing about what is checked in when out of it.

I would say that whatever it is at an hour before daybreak tomorrow in the morning will be at least that amount..

It's the best season we have had here sine 2010. My youngest and I are out to try to get him a deer this morning. And there is a wounded doe that needs put down if she shows, she got caught in neighbor's fence before gun season. We saw her yesterday, very lame in hindquarters and obviously suffering but no shot.

Perfect storm.
One of the earlier times season will come in. Weather that was a nice balance between good for the hunters and good for the deer. Dark moon.

I look for a larger than typical falloff after this weekend.
I would like to know, for sure, how many sets of boots were actually on the ground during this past weekend and for the season as a whole. Compare that to how many deer are/were actually killed.

Compare that to how many deer are/were actually killed. Pivotal piece of the puzzle, but the hardest to obtain if not impossible. My bet is this weekend just simply due to the extremely easy weather conditions saw far more hunters in the field than normal...deer pushed far more than normal opening weekends. I too suspect the decline may be more severe, but primarily due to the fact a larger chunk got their deer and we all know most license holders just want their thrill and then are done.

It would be impossible currently ... with lifetime licenses and landowner thrown in the mix it turns "educated guess" into an oxymoron.

Compare that to how many deer are/were actually killed. Agree... A bunch of folks have killed, a bunch of folks only hunt opening day/weekend no matter what, and we are going to get a lot of rain moving in the next few days.. My questions to the folks that say "the herd is decimated" is: 1) If the kill is up this year will you say " The DNR is STILL allowing too many deer to be killed!" 2) If the kill is down will you say "We told you that there aren't many deer left. The DNR has already killed off too many". 3) Same number as last year - Will you ever say - The herd is just right? ... NAH!
