Does anyone own a gun chambered in the .357 max? Has anyone ever shot one of these? I would like to hear your opinions if you have first hand experience with this caliber.

I have 2 Encores; a 20"rifle and an 8" handgun. Never killed a deer with the handgun but the rifle has taken maybe a half dozen. I use 180gr SSP's and the deer don't go far. Great little rifle

I have a H&R Handi rifle that I reamed several years back. I like it a lot. Took 2 deer with it this year, as well as several others over the years. Probably the most flexible caliber that I own; can load from .38 spcl. through 2000+ fps 180 grain deer loads. This link will show you the potential of the maxi. www.dandtcustomgunworks.websitetoolbox.com/post/357-max-test-5264779

Good caliber out to 200 or so yards. Longest kill 206 yards.

That 180gr SSP at 2000 would be a great killer. Using that bullet in some of the faster wildcats doesn't work out as well. It doesn't perform consistently when pushed to 2900 or so....but hornady never intended it to go that fast.
Don't have a 357 Max but like the round.

I've bought barrels from Bullberry and MGM. I think the rifle is a MGM. I have a Red dot on it now.

I'd like to have a .357 Maximum. Anyone here know of any .357 Magnum Handi-Rifles for sale, new or used? Since H&R went to the wayside, I cannot find one anywhere. I have a brand new in box .300 Blackout Handi-Rifle that I'd like to trade, but would buy it outright if that were the only way.

Yeah, I've been reading there a lot lately. I ended up mailing the barrel off to Mike Bellm yesterday, since he will do the reaming concentric to the bore. Definitely more expensive than renting the reamer, but it'll be done better than I could do on my own. Lol! www.bellmtcs.com/store/index.php?cid=120

It's from High Plains; have a couple of their sets. www.highplainsgunstocks.com/However be warned - they do not stand up to some rounds; I put a set on my 416Rigby and in less than 20 rounds it cracked. I called them and they said they were fine until you get to the African dangerous game type rifles then they are a no go. But yeah, I really like them.
