Well spent a few hours yesterday getting all my cameras set out! It appears since last fall, i've either lost a camera or it was stolen. I'm really hoping for the first not the second. But hopefully we get some good pictures over the next few weeks!
Who else has got their cameras up?

I was really hoping that I forgot where I put one camera, but with only 10 acres, I think I've looked on every tree.

Put mine out Dec. 1 and pulled couple weeks ago. I run feed stations from Dec.1 through late summer so just put cams out on feeders. Just about all bucks have dropped antlers at this point so I have removed cams and won't put back out until mid June. Seeing a large amount of antlerless and a dozen or so bucks on regular basis.

Does everyone put attractant out in front of the cameras or most just put on travel paths? If so what do you use for attractant?

Mine are not out. I am very careful to seldom go out into the great areas of the woods. That is year round. I only put mine out the 1st week of August and remove the 1st/2nd week of September. The buck bachelor groups break up in mid-August and the big buck will have a major large scrape and rubs by the end of the 2nd week of September. I will place my stands the 1st week of August and only scout and camera check one time during the 2nd week of September. If you find a scrape by 1st/2nd week of September you have a great awesome place for a big buck. If you don't find a scrape then there is a good chance there is no resident big buck. You will have to wait for the rut for a passing through buck. I read this in a magazine about 15 years ago and it took me three years on many hundreds of acres of woods to find this out to be true. Theses golden areas seem to be year in year out. A few years ago I had to fix the Osage orange hanging branch for the next year. I cut a branch from the other side and screwed the new branch from the broken off part.

The creation and success of a communal scrape that turns into the first communication hub/scrape in September is GOLD, GOLD I SAY! Nice post.

It's amazing this is not mentioned much in the deer magazines.

If you are wanting to inventory your local deer, yes feed station/mineral licks or both will attract to your camera. I have already pulled cams as like I said most bucks have shed here. I place my feed stations in existing food plots/fields. EX. I have one located in a 4 acre alfalfa field, another in a 2 acre clover field and another in a harvested corn field. Also have mineral licks at feeder locations. I run feeder's and mineral sites from Dec.1 through Sept. 1. Feed a mixture of corn ( Both cracked/whole) and alfalfa pellet's.
