What are your planned hunting trips for 2016?
Just deer for me this year. Recently booked a late season rifle whitetail hunt in southeast Kansas. Have had some great success in that area in the past. Will also hunt southern IL both firearms and archery, as well as at home in northern IN.

I would like to hunt early KY muzzeloader if I could find some place to go that did not cost an arm and a leg.

I'm going to hunt my improved food plot in Martinsville. I finally have all my needed equipment, 400lb disk, 200lb 8' chain harrow, boom sprayer, ATV spreader and a 2016 Polaris 570 camo! The seed has been ordered; I'm excited. I might have to start a little business.
Taking my feeder out to Brownsville next week. These two places will keep me busy during the season.
I have to find a turkey to shoot this year too.

I don't know of anyone eating them, most people don't even touch them since they have been known to carry the Bubonic plague.

South Dakota for prairie dogs for sure, I go every year with my dad and my son. Wyoming maybe for prairie dogs. Been once; it was a hoot! We shot in Redbud Reservation. Started playing with the .22 rimfires just to see how far we could get some with it. After you shoot out there on those little targets, 300 yards with a center fire begins to be an easy shot.

Yep especially on deer sized game. My longest confirmed kill on a prairie dog is 535 yards with a .223 , unconfirmed 610 yards with a .219 donaldson wasp.

I would like to hunt early KY muzzeloader if I could find some place to go that did not cost an arm and a leg. Kentucky isn't as good as it used to be. KY has gotten a tremendous amount of hunting pressure in the last 5 to 8 years. It's almost impossible to find private land these days in KY because it is mostly all leased already. There is still some good hunting if you can find good land. But that is becoming much harder these days.

Alabama hogs - very soon. California Columbia Blacktail and Black Bear, September. The Alabama hog trip was fun, had a sounder run through us and killed 1 young sow. I have all the tags, licenses, permits/etc. I need for the September trip, just have to get on the plane. Put in for a late November / early December tag for Coues deer down by the border in AZ. Draw odds are good.

I should be sitting on a plane exactly one month from now for my CA trip. I've been running a bit to try and get my big carcass in better mountain shape.
I still need to shoot my rifle a bit more, and start doing some hikes with weight in my pack.

LCH, you all ready for your trip out west? Leaving real soon, correct? Yep, everything's packed and ready to go. I leave on Sunday. I'm sure I won't have service in the mountains, but I'll put together a report when I get back.
