I think I know the answer but here goes, I have some friends, two brothers who own 240 acres, a third friend is also on the deed but not related to the brothers. The brothers live in a different state, the non brother lives in Indiana. The property is farmed by a neighborhood farmer. All three say they do not need a license to hunt the property, I say they do. Who's right? No one lives on the property. Raw land except for farming.

The statute states that the "owner" of farmland that is a resident or nonresident of Indiana is exempt from needing a license to hunt, trap or fish on the property. If you are a nonresident of Indiana, you can only meet the exemption if the state you reside in provides the same exemption to Indiana residents who own property in that state.
If a person is listed as the "owner" of the land on the deed for the land, and it is not a company or a trust, the owner would be allowed to meet the exemption. Typically, if it has more than one owner, it is a under a trust versus just being individual owners. The statute does not state anything about the number of individual owners of the land, just that it has to be the owner.
