Doing a little research after Bullwinkle claimed the state robbed the LTL money for the purchase of RV1 I came up with this. www.in.gov/gov/rv1/Where it claims the second RV was actually donated by the company that makes them in Wakarusa, IN. The first one was purchased before Daniels was even Gov. so I don't see how the state would have funded that purchase either. Bullwinkle if you have any further info on this I would appreciate it. Thanks, Duff

If I remember correctly, the LTL fund was raided to help decrease the overall state deficit in spending a few years bck. The "promise" of paying it back has to date not been backed up.

That was a joke about using it to pay for RV 1. The LTL was never raided. It would take a legislative bill to use those funds differently than the intent, as the LTL was created by legislation. So it takes an act by the legislation to change it. Several years ago when the State surplus went away, State Auditor Connie Nass (R) suggested that we, The state, had plenty of money if we would only tap into dedicated funds like the LTL account. State Senator Mike Young(R) and some other Republicans also jumped on the idea too. However it never happened. It was pre-election politics bashing the incumbant Governor. However a bill did pass a couple of years ago to allow some of those funds to be used to buy point of sales license system.

Ok, I know there have been a lot of rumors about the state not having a law that protects the license money and such. I have never been too concerned about this so I started to do some research on how and where our license money is being used/placed.
I just wanted to make sure I got all the correct info. Thanks for clearing that up.
