I fall asleep out there a lot. I'm a pretty light sleeper though so it's not optimal, but not as bad as it could be I guess.
It's a struggle. Usually I'm getting up super early, it's nice and peaceful out there.

oh man, I'd challenge someone to NOT fall asleep given the right conditions--nice cool afternoon in the blind, maybe a gentle drizzle for some white noise, birds chirping... I'll see you tonight!

I am one who has a really hard time falling asleep while hunting. Afraid I'll miss something I guess. I will try really hard to take a nap but just can't do it. I only recall doing it one time and I woke up to have an 8 pointer staring right at me.

A long time ago, maybe around 1987 I was sick on open gun day and still want out. I was up in my stand and did not feel good at all. I decided to get out of the stand and just sit against the beach tree. Will around 2pm a deer stump woke me up and standing over me was a buck. The gun had slide down the hill a few feet and could not reach it. We both froze for a few minutes then he ran over me, but not on me. Good news. that cured me.

Surprisingly, I don't sleep in my stand. I'll go to the truck if I must sleep. I snore, so I might as well hunt sitting on my ATV while it's running.

On opening day of turkey season I took my first hunting nap for a good 30-45 minutes. After coming to I felt refreshed. It's really hard for me to fall asleep while hunting. Like Dave I'm afraid I might miss something. I sure would hate to miss the deer of a lifetime because I was snoozing.

When I was younger I would sleep in the stand a lot. Not any more. When I was on 12 hour night shifts I would come home and hit the woods for a few hours before going to bed. I didn't even sleep then.
