First time applying for reserved hunts: how should I be thinking about this? Can I apply for dove, pheasant, and the deer creek quail hunt? Or only one total? Additionally, any advice on properties or how to go about researching the properties. Do I pick specific days, etc. Just lookin for general advice, hoping to get myself and the dog out a ton this year!

Wild pheasant draw is a hard one to get picked. I know a few wjo have been out several times bust most are 0 for ?on that draw. Put in for all you can or want to. They are free and easy. But if drawn you need to make all efforts to go.

I've gone on 7 wild pheasant hunts over the last 30 years or so. Helps that my old dog can still hunt 'em up. Got drawn for the Atterbury turkey hunt this year and got a bird. Never done the dove hunts. Sign up for as many as you can. What have you got to lose. (Hint for the pheasant draw: pick opening day of deer season.)

The way to get drawn for the pheasant hunt is to apply for the youth day. Each youth can take two adults.
