Put this in Saturday, still have to mount no trespassing signs on it and put on reflective tape. I'm only up here once a week to mow and check cameras. This is set up on a creek, picture was taken from inside the property. The concrete bridge in front is the only way to cross. I have a two story log home here I going to remodel and let my daughter and her husband live at to watch the property.

Sad you have to put that up at all. Next will be se bollards out each side to keep them from driving around them. Maybe put up some old cameras as a decoy

I have two camera's on this road 24/7. If they drive around this creek is full of car size boulders and I'm moving more right on the sides of the gate with the backhoe. A guy just a mile down the highway was broke into and stole his gun safe.

I have nearly the same situation as this and need to put a gate up. The fill around the area where the gate needs to be is full of concrete pieces, bricks, and who knows what else. I'll need a backhoe to dig the post holes, digging by hand would be a nightmare. Nice looking gate you have there.

Yes, I used a backhoe to dig the post holes, to much rock to dig by hand. I used a 12 inch bucket so I kept the hole small.

We just welded the extension. Buddy of mine has a sign boneyard at his sign company so i just dug it out and welded it together.

I have two 7 foot pieces of rail road rail and several pieces of 2 inch pipe my son drug home from a construction job he was on. All I need is the time to weld it up, plus the backhoe. LOL

The HNF crew has some pretty darn tuff looking gate designs. I always look them over pretty close when I see a new one.
Those guys have a lot of experience with gate designs.

Looks nice, myself it isn't beefy enough. I've thought about sinking a telephone pole in the ground on either side of the road and then having some rail road iron be the actual "barrier" if you will swing into place with some sort of locking mechanism on the other end.
I try to think like a redneck and say "now if I were drunk and had 3 teeth in my head how could I mess this up". But that is just me. I've had a lot of vandalism out to our property and one thing I've found out about these little heathens is they are lazy. They will prefer to run it over or shoot it.

Agreed, If they want In, this isnt going to stop them. But i will have multiple pictures of them.
