My 10 y.o. daughter recently asked about getting a compound. After killing her deer last year her switch was flipped and the passion has been lit. Looking to get something that'll last a while. Seeing as though trying to outfit her is about to break me. Who makes an affordable youth bow that'll grow with her?

Bear Cruiser or Diamond Prism are a couple of options for you. High $200's but they come with a rest and sight.

Take a look at Mission bows, they are owned by Mathews. I bought my youngest a Mission Menace when she was 8, it adjusts from 17"- 30" draw length and from 15-52 pounds. If she's a big enough, look into the Mission Craze. My oldest daughter shoots it, and I'll end up moving my youngest (she's 11 now) up to it in the near future. It adjusts from 19-30 inches in draw length and 13-70 pounds. Both bows have a MSRP of $299. If memory serves me correctly, I had somewhere around $400 in the menace out the door with arrows and a release and $600 in the craze out the door. That price could go up or down with how you accessorize them. I went cheaper on the menace, and put better accessories on the craze. Www.missionarchery.com

Aim for something about 40lbs, draw length depends on her. I personally would look on craigslist so you can save money while she is young and then go spend when she is ready for full bow or crossbow. Times, if its used I wouldn't mind a few scrapes or accidents as much as I would if I just bought a nice PSE. I bought my first compound 8 years ago when I was 10 after saving all of my grass mowing money, it was a bear.

seeing this post late I know, did you find her one? I got my daughter a PSE fever several years ago I had for sale good price RTH. didn't sell it so I just upgraded the limbs to 40-60lbs. The PSE stinger is really adjustable setup. A lot of manufacturers make highly adjustable bows
