Hogs are considered domestic farm animals. You don't even need a hunting license to kill one. DNR encourages all wild hogs to be killed.

You should castrate and then feed it we’ll then kill it.

I wonder how long it has to survive on it's own in the wild to no longer be considered a domestic animal.

It's causing some damage. It rooted up a big area behind my parents house.

My sister has a "pot belly" pig that just ranges free through her yard and a little ways off into the surrounding woods. It's probably 150 pounds, not sure if it's pure bred or not. He's a neutered male, so he won't be making any more, but I warned her that he's liable to be shot by a hunter wandering through the woods like that. Especially since there has been a few real wild hogs around here for the past 30 or so years. Last year or the year before they shot on by Lehigh. Guy shows me a picture. Told him, hate to burst your bubble but that's a pot belly. They eat the same though

I wonder how long it has to survive on it's own in the wild to no longer be considered a domestic animal. It doesn't matter. The species is considered domesticated, like cattle and honeybees.

They say it only takes about 2 weeks for them to revert back to being like wild. Just what I have heard ,don't know if its true.

Looks non-native and wild to me! Does not meet the definition of domesticated. Doesn't look tame to me and or be kept as a pet. No tags no collar no nothing on it.
do·mes·ti·cated /dəˈmestəˌkādəd/Submit adjective (of an animal) tame and kept as a pet or on a farm.

Hoping for an update indicating this critter has found its way to a freezer!

Here's the difference between me and scrub-buster. My post would begin with, so I shot this pig. Look wild to you fellows. Anyway got it in the smoker now. Just wondering.

We haven't seen it since those pictures were taken. I'm done hunting for the season so I'm not too likely to cross paths with it unless it wonders into my yard.
