I'm a (lousy) bowhunter and I don't work on my own bow, so from time to time I need repair/maintenance/setup help from an archery shop. I bought my current bow while in Minnesota and I've hit a couple different spots here when I needed to. The discussion in the Athens Archery thread made me realize I'd do well to pick a "home shop" and build a relationship (and allocate my dollars wisely to ensure they stay in business!) so I figured I'd ask...anybody have strong recommendations for an Indy-area shop?
I live in the Oaklandon/Lawrence area of Indy and pretty much everything Indy-area is within an hour's drive, so location convenience isn't a primary concern.

Forgot to mention Bass and Bucks. Probably two hours for you but worth the drive. www.bassandbucks.com/500 bows in stock and solid techs. Family owned. This is where I bought my Mathews HTR

Another vote for Honey Creek. I bought my daughter's bow there, and I've taken in my bow and my sons' bows there to be worked on (they were bought elsewhere).
If you want to drive to southern Indiana, check out High Performance Archery. Cliff is great, it's just too much of a drive for me for most things.

Thanks all who recommended Honey Creek. I had a good experience there and ended up buying a really nice barely used bow there this weekend.

I don't know about others but I enjoy seeing other people's set-up's. Gives me ideas and helps mold my archery thought process. If you don't mind sharing that is...

I went with a Matthews Vertix. There were several options that I could have been happy with, but I liked a lot of things about this one and it was slightly used, so that saved me some $. Looks great and shoots really nice.

Looks great and shoots really nice. Congratulations on your new bow! I've never been a Matthews fan simply because of their grips. However, the Vertix felt nice. I checked one out when I was buying my new bow this past April. I think anyone would be pleased to own and shoot one.

I really liked the way it felt in my hand.

And a lot of people had. They definitely looked really nice but for me, they just weren't comfortable. When I first began bow hunting Iooked at Mathews but, they all had those bulky wooden grips. They just didn't suit me well. To be honest, I had removed the grips all together on my first 2 bows and just wrapped the riser in sportsman tape. However, Mathews new bow has that thinner design that is more to my liking.

I know this is an older post, but if you’re still looking, I live in Fortville and I got to a guy just outside of Pendleton named Doug Girt. The shop is called DGArchery. He has done 4 bows for me now and he is the best! He also shoots the 3D competitions with his wife and they are some great archers
