Since the crude and gasoline prices are low I suggested to Mom that she call. She has plenty to last to August, but if the prices are down, why not fill up now and top off in the Fall?
$0.87/gal is what she was quoted, so they will fill her up when they can. One 1,000 gal tank is on 10%, I shut that one off and tapped into the other one about a month ago.
Has anybody else called or gotten filled lately?

That's great! I paid $3.49/gal to fill a 100# tank a couple years ago during a shortage and cried all the way home.

Good thing you brought this up, I have auto fill and every year they offer a prepay in September at a reduced rate so I usually purchase about a $1000.00 worth.
That amount will last me till May or April, I may try to buy some now if it's cheap enough.

I remember hearing people in Iowa, iirc, were forced to pay $6. I couldn't afford that. We heat with wood 100%, but run the furnace once in a while to keep it working. I only refill our tank every 4 or 5 years. Otherwise, all electric. There is a natural gas pipeline across the road, and plant a couple miles away, but dont let us utilize it. Just crazy.

Update:
They filled Mom's tanks today. two 1,000 gallon tanks that I bought at an auction and refurbished them. I made durn sure they had the tags on them. Took the gauges apart, put new seals under them, removed the bung at the bottom of the tank, made sure they were cleaned out, added methanol to each tank, etc., etc.
I think the price came down, she got 879 gallons @ $0.845/gallon. Then add sales tax on top of that.

That’s a good price I’d say I though about doing it earlier myself before things get going again and the price rises most years I do it mid summer
Wish I had a couple 1000 gallon tanks I’d fill them with gas before it goes back up

I'm going to be contacting my gas guy, we've been dealing in cash over the last several years so I get it substantially cheaper than the going rate. I may give him a call in the next couple of days.
