Boy is this F'ed up, even worse than usual.
I received my new registration sticker for a trailer in the mail. Went to put it on and the plate is gone from the trailer. Bracket broke off I guess. POS plastic crap.
Try calling BMV yesterday, Call center wait time was an hour to get through to someone. I wanted to get in touch with my local BMV branch - no phone number for them, have to go through the call center. Local branch is only open bia appointment only. Look on-line to make an appointment, none available this week, and they aren't open on Monday.
Called first thing this morning, wait time is 45 minutes and I called 1 minute after they opened.
I can see writing a sign and taping it to the trailer with the plate number and saying lost plate.....
You'd think that they would have enough people to get things done if the branches aren't open.

I sent the paperwork in a month ago for a new trailer that we're using to move. Still in processing. I just kept all of my receipts/etc. and hope that I'm shown leniency if I'm stopped with it.

I'm trying to get a car title. Same deal. At least I can wait another month. My drivers license expires June 3rd. I got online to make an appointment. Earliest appointment date in Boonville is May 27th. Not sure how folks can do that if they don't do the internet thing?

I would just use the trailer and have the paperwork with me as well as registration in case of a stop.

Call the police/sheriff and file a lost or stolen plate report. This paperwork will serve as your proof of registration until you can replace it.

My mother is fighting/working with the IRS and Social security office right now....talk about a -show! The social security office updated some software and reverted my mother to her maiden name. They screwed up...but the burden is on her to get it fixed! Funny how the government can be real efficient in collecting what they want....but when you need something from them....good luck!

I haven't been able to e-file my taxes for a few years because of something similar. I haven't tried to fix it because I know it will turn into a huge deal.

I did all of my registration renewals online again this year with zero trouble and got my papers/stickers quickly.
There is a place online I remember seeing to get a replacement plate.

I tried that with my drivers license and when I git to the bottom it Saudi couldn’t do it. I went back and read the fine print and anyone 75 and older have to do it in house. I need to have my eyesight examined.

I read on that website that the governor instructed the BMV to not charge late fees and penalties. And instructed the police departments to not give citations to expired plates till this is all over.

Call the police/sheriff and file a lost or stolen plate report. This paperwork will serve as your proof of registration until you can replace it. Yup, I downloaded the form from the BMV website. The lady that I talked to said I needed to mail it in once the police filled out the top half. and the info was on the website. The info is on the website all right "bring to your local branch office". So, I'm just going to show up there and pretend like I have an appointment once it's all filled out. I have the registration for the trailer with the new current sticker that I couldn't put on the old plate because it was gone. I'll keep that and the lost plate paperwork in the truck with me. I'll also tape a paper "plate" to the fender and write on there that I'm waiting for a replacement plate if the BMV doesn't issue me a paper one or I get turned away at the door.
