Iam shooting a T/C black diamond and have had it for 4 years, I would love a new muzzleloader but like most of us the cash flow is short, But I think i would have to give a real hard look at the Savage, Although i was looking for something that i could use for turkey hunting also like the Knight? I just want too much and probably will have to stay with what i already have,But there sure are some nice guns being made these days, I guess i can always Dream!!!!!

Steiny. I shoot the 45 Encore, I shoot power belts with 90 grains of 777, I have the 45 acp conversion for the primers (small rifle) with groups at around 1" or less depends on how I feel. As far as the Encore being a lousy looking rifle, Here is mine and I will shoot with the best bolt actions etc. I ahve several Encores and barrels of various calibers the one in the picture is a 243, I ahve taken deer in excess of 300 yards 1 shot kills img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ourway7/HPIM0714.jpg who made your stock? i would like one for my encore

Easily Removable Breech is Good. Black Plastic and Stainless is better. Flintlock with the above qualities? -Priceless-

Steiny------ <EDIT of personal attack> why would anyone buy an Encore and think they would be crummy centerfire rifles? ?? <EDIT of personal attack> T/C Encores and Contenders are some of the finest single shot rifles made in the world. If you don't like the dang things, don't by them. You don't make sense!!!!

STEINY,,,,, why dont you start out with a 180 gr. (.357 cal) Hornaday bullet over 150 grains of pyrodex...that should shoot flat enough for you. I suspect you are one of the types that hates to experiment with different loads to obtain optimum accuracy from your rifle.

I would look hard at the Savage, then the Knight, then the T/C Encore.
