Just curious if anyone is hunting with a flintlock smoke pole? I would be if I hadn’t tagged out and didn’t need anymore meat. Last time I used mine was about 5 years ago on a doe.

It is a toss up between my .54 flint or my .45 caplock. The flint has been a reliable deer slayer. The .45 just shoots better but is unproven as a hunting rifle. All the meat it has accounted for was farm raised.

I don't even know any one that owns a flintlock gun. Would love to shoot one just for fun though.

I do not have a flintlock but have a TC Greyhawk percussion with aftermarket sights. Very accurate but has not taken a critter yet. I seriously need to remedy that and not take my in-line out this year.

Don’t know that I could see the sights well enough on mine to dare try it

Thats one I don't have yet. Haven't shot one either but would be neat to do.

Flintlocks are 60% good quality locks, 5% flint, 15% powder, 20% barrel and 20% shooter attitude. Seems funny to me that reliabilty questions are more about inlines than flintlocks.
