Here's video of a guy who decided that ziplining to his stand would keep the scent away from the deer. He apparently didn't give any thought to the noise the thing made while he was riding along. Nor did he give much thought to what would happen when he zipped right into a tree. That happens around the 9 minute mark. Enjoy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHgHXT1-4Ds

Honestly if a controlled roller could be employed and not a steep angle, this method in the right situation could be dynamite!
That was worth a watch though!

I can appreciate the thought, but I can't imagine doing that period. I especially can't imagine doing that in the morning, in the dark, with a back pack and bow or gun.
Nope.

Zip-lining in? No.
But I have long had a dream of having a series of elevated catwalks in the trees going from stand to stand to stand...

I thought is was stupid. You might as will parachute in. Just jump off the plane and land on your stand! Use the chute as your roof if it rains.

If I had the resources I'd build tunnel access to a spot on my property. Be killer!

Too adventurous for me!
I have been thinking about a minimalist overnight stay in a stand. I remember someone talking about having spent the night in his climbing recliner-style stand a few generations ago. Don't recall if he ever did it again or if it was successful in getting him a good shot.
And I remember considering the possibility again a few years ago while spending a morning in my brother's two-person ladder stand.

I have put in a few overnight sits in a ladder stand, trying to kill a hog over bait. Never did get one that way though.

Not gonna lie I've considered all options posted except the parachute idea. None are feasible for me being on public ground. However if they ever come up with levitating boots I'd be interested!

I have to cross a creek to get to one of my permanent stands. I thought about a horizontal cable and trolley (pulley) attached and a rope down where I would be dangling to pull myself back and forth. I have had to wade back out once when the water had risen over my rubber boot tops in pretty cold weather. Not fun. Would rather not have to do it again.

A good sleeping bag is a must. Woke up to deer feeding right under my stand once.
