A good friend of mine who served in Vietnam ( Army ) and into the 80s referred to payday as " The Eagle s**** today." I always thought that was humorous. He is also fond of "the thousand year rule" a reference to silly rules or procedures that have always been there for no reason anyone can remember. Do any of you guys remember these phrases? Any other good terminology?

My Vietnam combat days were 69-70. FUBAR = F...ed Up Beyond All Recognition. SNAFU = Situation Normal, All F...ed Up.

Air force jokes - telling a fng to go get a bucket of prop wash, 50 feet of flight line, and a voice activated light cart.
