I wonder if we can get any traction with getting an annual sportsmen license with these proposals? Include a deer bundle, regular hunting, regular fishing, turkey, necessary stamps for a reduced price than everything separately. With the price increase they have on the table some multi game and season hunters maybe able to afford something like that!

I wish they would raise the price every year instead of this IMO people won’t complain or drop hunting fish altogether with a 5 dollar increase but throw 30 bucks just for one tag it’s a bunch As said for turkey I really only have draw hunts or public ground that may not get bought next year

Maybe a few bucks next year then nothing for a few years, then a few bucks again until they get to the level they are aiming for.

It would be far better to do it that way I’ll complain but still buy tags money is not really the issue for me at this point in my life 30 years ago it would of been a big hit as said it’s just a small part of the cost I buy tags to hunt my own ground anyway even though I don’t need any I just do because I can afford at this time and fill it’s the right thing to do to support the DNR and the sports I love It’s still cheep compared to what I’ve spent to hunt Canada or out west

As I am a current member of the OFC, my life time hunting license is still effective?

When lifetime licenses were offered for sale one thing that pushed me over the edge was that they were still good if you moved out of state. That is why I purchased one. Always considered a resident hunting and fishing. I knew I had a better chance finding a new engineering job in Cincinnati. Company owner in Fort Wayne had a massive heart attack. He survived, but wanted to down size the company. He asked if we could start looking for a new job. He took care of all expenses and helping us find a new job. He was a very good man, owner and boss.

I showed this at work, and 2 guys said they wont hunt anymore if licenses go up like that. They both arent very successful or determined, so that probably has a lot to do with saying that. Will see.

Well at least they didn’t take the maximum numbers on everything proposed. Those increases aren’t horrible accounting for the last time any increase was made.

It might keep a small percentage of casual hunters out of the woods, but realistically we all knew this was coming @ some point as it had been several years since the fees had gone up.

Many, many years ago we bowhunted Colorado every year. Over the counter NR bow tags were $25 each for deer and elk. Colorado then passed a bill that put us all (bow and rifle) under one tag for $90. Now that doesn’t sound like much now but that was pretty close to a weeks wages then. We swore we were done going to Colorado.
Guess what? We gave in the very next year and went I think died in the wool hunters will pay the price and keep on hunting, I would burn more in gasoline in two days driving to go hunt in my than what the tags cost.

Do you know when these new prices take effect? I say next year at the earliest and that maybe to soon....I believe this is first stage of the process. Fishing and Turkey license will be needed in April

I'm quite sure we all have many, many examples of times we've said "I'll never do that again", until we do...
