You beat me to posting it.
What's going on here? I think all on here can agree ALL politicians are shady and something else is behind all of it. He's from one of the poorest states in the nation and if all the bill promises is true, his constituents probably would benefit more than anyone. Something is fishy.

Honestly, I think there should be more of this from BOTH parties. They are supposedly elected to represent us and work for our betterment. Refusal to vote on anything outside party lines is ridiculous. Undoubtedly, MANY good plans have never made it because of gridlock.

Unfortunately when its said elected officials work for "us", it's nothing but a saying. If constituents truly gave a crap, we would vote out the radicals that dont represent us. But it's the same old story every time.

He's from one of the poorest states in the nation and if all the bill promises is true, his constituents probably would benefit more than anyone. Something is fishy. Perhaps, just perhaps, he realized that the last thing the residents of his state needed was more handouts. That more freebies would just accelerate their decline. If this monstrosity had contained huge incentives for businesses to locate in WV, and brought jobs,( besides huge, subsidized daycares that would have sprung up ) it might have helped. But as far as I know it had no such components. Of course he might be up to something too. Who knows. I have no doubt that sending a staffer to tell the white house & breaking the news on Fox was a deliberate "up yours." The rumor is that he was really hot over the bullying tactics employed by his "comrades."

I think the rumors are more true than we were told.

In my opinion, one only has to look at who the most outspoken critics of Manchin are. Sanders, Ortiz, Pressly, etc. They are all Socialists who campaign on "free stuff."

It might have started with Biden's stance on coal mines. Manchin's family owns one......

Woody, how do you get it to run if you are running an ad blocker? Dunno... CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. – West Virginians who spoke with Fox News said they supported Sen. Joe Manchin's decision to oppose President Biden's Build Back Better Act. "I absolutely support him," one woman told Fox News. "Nothing in that bill was going to help West Virginia. In fact, it would cost us jobs, for which we, of course, would be paying as taxpayers." After months of negotiations, Manchin told "Fox News Sunday" there was no way he could support the social spending bill known as the Build Back Better Act, putting the massive legislation at risk. MANCHIN SAYS HE ‘CANNOT VOTE’ FOR BUILD BACK BETTER: ‘I’VE DONE EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE' "I have always said, 'If I can't go back home and explain it, I can't vote for it,'" the West Virginia Democrat said in a statement following the interview. "Despite my best efforts, I cannot explain the sweeping Build Back Better Act in West Virginia and I cannot vote to move forward on this mammoth piece of legislation." One West Virginia resident told Fox News: "I support Joe Manchin 120%." She said she was glad Manchin was "not backing down to Biden because West Virginia is suffering for Biden's choices." Another West Virginia local told Fox News: "I'm praising him." Several Democratic lawmakers were outspoken over Manchin's decision. On Monday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of New York, called Manchin’s move "an "egregious breach of the trust of the president" and said that Democrats have "every right to be furious with Joe Manchin." Manchin said that between ongoing inflation, the national debt, "geopolitical unrest" and the COVID-19 pandemic, the bill his fellow Democrats were pushing was too much. Some West Virginians agreed, feeling the bill was too costly. "I think it was the right thing to do," one woman told Fox News. "Too much money going in the wrong direction." Another West Virginia man said: "We don't need to spend the money and we don't need to add to the deficit."
