For some reason we had a Free preview of the Paramount Network which featured "Yellowstone" and a prequel called "1883." ( too cheap to ever buy it) Anyway, I watched 1883 and it wasn't bad. A little dark perhaps, and some bad language ( but not as bad a Yellowstone, sheesh) but not a bad show. What stuck with me was a scene that wasn't meant to be funny but was. Tim McGraw ( I think ) is supposedly digging a grave. He's on his knees with two hands on the handle of a spade near the business end, scraping ineffectually at the dirt. This goes on for a painful amount of time until Sam Elliot joins in with some kind of spike, stabbing the Western sod with gusto. I kept expecting the director walk into the scene waving his arms. "No, No, NO!" Anybody else see the show?

I have seen clips on both youtube and Netflix but like you I am too cheap to get full blown cable. I saw Yellow stone DVDs at Walmart but I figured if I put it on my Christmas it would end up under tree. I must have been on the naughty list as this and the Primers never showed up. I do like Westerns. And Sam Elliot is a favorite of mine. I was hoping Yellowstone would show up on Netflix.

The story you just told including the part about the director interrupting reminds me of a Bob and Tom dkit, if you know the skit you know I can't explain it here! Funny stuff though!

We've been watching Yellowstone since its first season. We've watched two of the 1883 previews, and we like it so far. I was admiring the cased revolver the woman used to end herself with, making it necessary for Mcgraw to use the spade. We have Roku streaming, and have about decided to add Paramount2 so we can continue watching 1883. PS no children here.

I'm a Sam Elliot fan. Billy Bob Thornton too. Jury is still out on Tim McGraw. Good show so far though.

It shows in this series when he is using a gun. He looks very unnatural using a gun, as he has never used one in his life.

Couldn't stomach the language. Seemed pretty boring and other parts unbelievable. Not on the agenda to watch any more episodes.
Don't watch Yellowstone either.
Crossfire Trail is more to my liking.
