I figured I'd better get it over with and ordered propane. I figured it will probably get worse this year and not better. 40% in one tank, 10% in the other. Oh well, it's only money.

I have it worked out with a friend of mine who owns a propane company for cash discount off the books but nonetheless I'm sure that I will be a little lighter in the pocket book than in years past. Probably give him a call in late july when demand is at its lowest.

Unfortunately I talked to a buddy that does a lot of playing in the stock market, and HE talked to a guy he knows in Wi that owns a propane company. My buddy said he doesn't expect oil to be any lower later this year, the his propane buddy said he was buying all the futures he could now to lock in the price for the rest of the year.
I debated on whether to fill one of the 1,000 gal tanks or both and gambled at filling both. Normally they would get filled in July/August when the price is the lowest, but I just didn't feel like gambling this year. There is a pellet stove in the house, and I ran the numbers a few years ago to see what the break even point was on pellets vs. propane. I guess I'll order a pallet of pellets this year too, just to CMA.
In regards to the fish, the prices have already been set, I just have to watch fuel prices and adjust fuel delivery surcharge if needed. The PU truck was sitting at about 3/8 full and I filled the tank. $104 to fill it.....
I had a weird phone call the other day, and I will have an answer next week. A guy called wanting to know if I could get leeches for him to stock in his lake. I called and yes, 30# minimum order and I can get 4 or 5 different sizes.
So, for you guys that want to fish up North, I may have a supply of leeches. Question for the guys that use them, what size do you normally use? I have no idea what size I can get, I only know how many per pound.

I can’t take them up north no live bait And boy do they get ya on buying bait 12 bucks for a dozen minnows they may go down in summer normally only buy them for ice fishing and crawlers for summer. I’ve caught them on the lakes before but really never had that good of luck with them most of those were 2 to 3 inch’s. I know guys use them maybe it’s how I rigged them or fished them but I didn’t have much luck

I have 9 people that all buy our gas together the same day we all have our own tanks all are 1000 gallons we all pay that day check or cash can’t use CC so they cut us a bit of a deal. They fill my tank goes to my brothers who’s next door then hits a few other neighbors all with in a 1/2 mile than hits moms and her neighbors again all very close moms is 4 miles away So they sell 7 or 8 thousand gallons in a few hours puts ten miles on the truck and gets paid that day.

I see the bait stores in Wi selling a lot of Bluntnose Minnows which are hardier than Fatheads. The few bait stores I've been in up North have Fathead Minnows, Bluntnose Minnows, Suckers of different sizes and Golden Shiners. I've seen leeches, crickets and hellgramites too.

The bait store I stop at and you don’t have a choice not many around with out a hr drive sell suckers minnows crawlers wax worms leaches and I believe that’s about it. As far as I know most are trapped not grown they may at the bigger towns but they have trapping rights just like you would on fur. I’m not allowed to trap them and have to have a Receipt with me from the store I bought them at.

I know guys use them maybe it’s how I rigged them or fished them but I didn’t have much luck 3.50 a scoop up here for fatheads and crappie minnows, girls at the gas station usually give me two scoops. My son sturgeon fish's with my neighbor thats a bait dealer. Im going to call him and let him know he can use my new pond for minnows if he wants. A very good friend of mine that passed a few years back trapped minnows and leaches in the spring for resale. I went with him a number of times checking and setting leach traps. He had a market for blood suckers also. Pretty neat process watching him separate the leaches. He had 3 different sizes. Found it fascinating that the blood suckers would separate themselves from the fishing leaches.

Question: For those of you with tanks, would you rather stay in the situation you are in and play the market OR would you take a hook up and deal with the power company?
I remember when Mom and Dad had a tank as soon as the hookup was available they took it.

Question: For those of you with tanks, would you rather stay in the situation you are in and play the market OR would you take a hook up and deal with the power company? I remember when Mom and Dad had a tank as soon as the hookup was available they took it. Your going to drop the cost of the tank installation so you have to make that back the dealers around here are around 1500 to 2000 for a 1000 gallon tank that’s new a lot of them have used tanks they will sell. I bought a used tank off a customer he got natural gas ran passed his home and hooked to it. I paid 500 for it but had to move it and I installed it so I saved that cost. Here’s how to do the math how many gallons do you burn on average a year call a couple LP dealers in your area ask cost for LP for your own tank against the cost of them owning the tank that cost times gallons used on average will give a ballpark on saving For me yes even if I don’t save enough I still can shop around and am not locked into one dealer
