There are 3 critters I truly hate in life:
Roaches Ticks Mice
In that order, roaches are disgusting and carry disease, ticks are hard to get rid of, carry disease, and live in my favorite places to be. Mice are disgusting, carry disease, like to live where I live BUT can be eradicated easier than the others.
I'm sure there are other bugs and rodents that fall in the same category as these and maybe I over react but these are the ones I hate the most. I've dealt with mice and ticks, hopefully I never have to deal with roaches.
Permethrin treated clothes has done me well in the turkey woods. I wear long cotton socks that go up to my knee. I treat the socks and all my clothes and have been happy with results. The socks are a big part of my defense, if you have long white socks on and you treat your pants inside and out, the tick has to travel a long way to get past the treated area. Usually they get tangeled in the sock and die just above my ankle. But the longer they are on my lower leg the longer they are exposed to Permethrin. I tuck my t shirt and over shirt into my pants (they are also treated). I treat my hat and boots as well.

It seems pretty rough.
I have had great success with permethrin. I treat my clothes and gear a few days prior to season. I also treat my ground blinds and the ground on the inside and my chair.

Exactly what I do. A blind that has been out awhile becomes a tick incubator. Since I mix my own Permethrin I spray my blind pretty good.

Buy the Permethrin concentrate at Tractor Supply and dilute it and put it in a spray bottle. This is 10% Permethrin so its 1 ounce of the concentrate to 20 ounces of water. That make its .5% which is the same as Sawyers. You can go stronger but there is no need to. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/gordons-permethrin-10-livestock-and-premise-spray-8-oz?cm_vc=-10005.

I stopped by TSC and grabbed a spray bottle and some permethrin concentrate. I know the Sawyer's last several days, even after washed. Can I expect the same with this mixture?
