My cousin harvested his first bird...on his first turkey hunt ever!! This jake was roosted about 150 yds. across the field from our setup with 4 other jakes. This bird was gobbling good...which led me to believe he was a tom. They all pitched down and started feeding our way..this is when I figured out we were dealing with all jakes. He half strutted a few times for a second or two. They fed into around 30 yds before they all gobbled together twice...what a sight!! The lead two jakes moved on past which left the opening we needed to make a clean shot. This is the biggest jake I’ve ever seen personally...really healthy bird!! To say my cousin is hooked is an understatement!! Enjoy the video!! 19.5 lbs. 6” beard 1/2” Spurs youtu.be/yR-xeqshmKA

If that jake is going to act like a man, then treat him like one! Awesome video! Congratulations to Jake!

Congrats to both of you on a great hunt I’ve been lucky enough to help some younger guys get there first deer best hunt you will ever have. I wish we had a better turkey population here I’d try and get them on one not that I’m a good turkey hunter but sometimes luck is on my side
