Well, maybe not the meanest ever, but feisty.
I was leaving Clifty Park today when I noticed a stopped vehicle at the top of the south hill. Some folks were trying to get a snake to move. It was a large, very irritated Black snake that would not slither off. It just turned to face everything, even cars, bobbing like some movie cobra. It was also in a bad spot, causing a traffic issue. I got a stick and moved it. . In my experience they are usually biters, but will slither away if given the chance. Not this one.

Boy that thing was mad! I'll watch a black snake or any other non venomous snake I know but if I don't know it I'm not sticking around. Should have hit it with some poisoned hemlock!

My husky cornered one yesterday. I was wrong in assuming his species because he obviously referred to himself as a rattlesnake. Tail was twitching in the leaves and sounded just like one. How in the world did that evolution even happen. Leads me to think at some point a cross was made. Second time I've seen them do it.

I had a mating pair behind my cabin one year. They balled up together and moved leaves for 3 yards all directions. Later that fall had a big one in my path to walk to my hunting area, he didn’t want to move either. Then there was the one that was living inside my pole barn. I’d be working on something and he would scare me to death slithering by me laying on the floor greasing my tractor.
