roosting in the woods behind my home.
The Vultures arrive every afternoon at about 4:00pm and spend the night in the trees.
Other than crapping all over everything they have been no problem but my wife thinks it's about time they move along.

I thought that their usual roosting spot was in Washington DC.
Well, somebody had to say it!

Always creeps me out when they sun themselves with their wings spread out.

Always creeps me out when they sun themselves with their wings spread out. Yeah, when they are sitting in a circle like some kind of seance.

A few started roosting along the edge of the woods at our previous house. A few evenings of friendly fire from the pellet gun broke them of that habit. I didn't need the dogs contracting some sort of disease from the crap.
Before anyone starts lecturing me about them being protected, I shot at the branches they roosted on, not the birds directly.

They're probably just sitting there like "Hey Fred, what are we gonna do today?" Then Fred says "I don't know, same thing we do everyday I guess." And so on and so forth.😄

OK... my count was a tad bit off because this morning there were about 30 until I shot a few rounds up through the trees. That spooked them off.

After not seeing the Vultures for a couple of days I went out on the back deck yesterday evening and HOLY crap it was like a scene from an ALFRED HITCHCOCK film.
This time there had to be between 60-70 of them as I started shooting into the air. They kept trying to return until dark.
This morning is quiet.
