What are these? And don't say "dead bees" or "dead bumblebees". I'm looking for a genus and species, and if they are of any use to an apiarist. These are what are going under the back porch. If of no use to anyone, they are on the endangered short list. LOL

They are Bumblebees and they sting, wood bees usually will not.

There is a ton of variety of bumblebee. Carpenter bee is included in a bumblebee variety. They are of no use to a honey bee keeper.

beespotter.org/topics/key/color_pattern_guide.htmlThe lowered handful with a box around them are bees that won't show up until aug-sept. Looking at the black spot and the 1 looks like it has no yellow hair on the lower segment but the other does. From the pics provided I think it is safe to say Bombus.... I 100% agree not a wood bee or carpenter bee. And I would 100% kill them if living under my deck without going to the effort of learning exact species.

Yeah my wood Bee’s aren’t that small…. Them that small look like the ones I see on clover blooms crawling around! Good luck finding the nest….

I will douse the wood with Perm-Up. Supposed to have a good residual action, and they are walking across that area to get through the spaces between the boards of the rear deck. I'll take pictures of the rear deck in the morning.
