I grew up with mr. Canfield's family. His son in law was my football and wrestling coach in highschool. Graduated with his grandson and nephew. They were/are great people.
Baled hay and straw for them but never played ball in the palace. I did hunt geese and doves on their land. Let's just say I was built for football and wrestling

One of the first things I put in our barn after we built it was a backboard & hoop. Still have a lot of fun in there playing HORSE and shooting free throws to see who can get most in a row.
When I was a kid, some neighbors down the road had a big barn like in video with full court upstairs.

At the other end of facilities, I just finished a project for a local surgeon. He built an indoor sports facility that is fully conditioned, a half-court for basketball with two side goals, volleyball posts, and a pickle ball court. It had true maple floors and looks like half a gymnasium. I did the excavation, finish grading, and landscaping for him. It is a top-notch facility for being in a back yard. He is a very generous person and allows the local pre-high school youth basketball and volleyball teams to reserve the place at no cost for practice.
The neighborhood I grew up in had two basketball goals. One mounted on a garage gable and the other a telephone pole. Both had #57 limestone floors. Consistent dribbling was as much a fantasy as keeping the hide on your knees, hands, and elbows.
