I have a 2007 Ford F150 King Ranch. When I returned home from the woods yesterday, I noticed an oil puddle where I park my truck. I am pretty good at watching all my gauges while driving. On both my 30 minute trip to and from Winamac Thursday and to and from the woods yesterday, I checked my gauges and the temp, battery and oil all seemed fine to me. I checked all the fluids this morning and everything looks good. The tranny is a little low. The oil is dripping on the driveway under the front of the driver side. In this picture, the tire is the front driver side. I am not mechanically inclined nor do I know very much at all. I can change a starter and alternator but, that's where it ends for me. Any thoughts? Or is there simply not enough information?

Check the power steering fluid….you can also start the vehicle and turn steering wheel side to side and see if leaks more.

Looks like power steering psi line. More than likely the steel tube is rusted through. Not uncommon

Ooohhh!!! I hadn't even considered it was the power steering. Thanks for the input!

The steering is a little stiff. Not the whole time but, you can definitely feel the lack of smoothness that is generally there.

Slide a piece of cardboard or something white under it. Might get a better color and location ID. Power steering fluid can be a clearer color like hydraulic fluid, sometimes reddish, sometimes blueish, or could be a a wildcard if somebody mixed oils. Maybe a Ford guy here can help with color?

If so, you could be on the right track. Reservoir appears to be low but, I can't really see through it. And yes, the stiffness is definitely new. I hadn't noticed any issues prior. I will slide some printer paper under the truck and see what comes up.

Ford fluid is red, but when is old and contaminated will look black like engine oil. Rub it between your fingers and it will feel thinner than engine oil.

What year is the truck? Does it have rack and pinion steering or gear box steering?

Idk, it looks like oil to me. Doesn't quite smell like it though.

Looks like power steering fluid to me. The steel tube in the picture, if you follow it up does it go to power steering pump? Pump will be turned by the belt. Also from the picture it looks like it is wet at the inside of the frame? What if you look over the top of the tire, can you see the tunes screwed into another big piece that is bolted to the frame. My guess is the lines are rusted through where there is a clip on the tube.

I honestly don't know where that tube goes to. But, if it is rusted near the top, would that cause it to spray around and thus, the reason for it being so wet underneath?

Looks like there is a transmission leak too - the reddish color, unless that is the P/S fluid only.
Take the P/S cap off. Some caps have a dipstick built into the cap. Stick something clean into the reservoir when you get the cap off and check to see what color fluid is in there.

However, the transmission fluid was a little low but, not a concerning amount.

Lot of times the trans will have two lines that hook to the radiator for a transmission cooler I thought it might be a transmission leak also from the color but I don’t know enough to give good advice unless I was there to look at it than maybe I could

Lol!

Lol! Yes, and some have an auxiliary trans oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator as well.
