This is really my first year true turkey hunting I’ve got a few others but it’s because I was hunting deer and they were in the area so I bought tags and they happened to show up
I’ve heard and read about them but that was the first I’ve seen they look cool this hen had really good color she stood out right away that really is the only reason I noticed the beard wasn’t much maybe 3 inch’s but it was on her

I've seen 3 now. Could have shot 2, but I can't justify the price of a mount, so let them pass. You sure wouldn't get much meat from a hen.

That’s what I was thinking a full body mount would be interesting but your right probably a bit on the pricey side, she actually was a fairly lager hen compared to the other hens I’ve seen this year

There is a hen with some good size spurs I’ve seen multiple times. No beard. Hens with small beards have been pretty common around the property. But I Don’t remember ever seeing a hen with spurs.

So far that’s the only one I’ve seen around my place Been a interesting and learning year for me I never knew just how vocal turkeys can be and all the different sounds they use them hens can be just as loud as old Tom is

A guy here at work has some property in Wisconsin. Just bagged a bearded hen this last weekend. Looked like about a 7-8” beard.

There are three hens left in my home area. One has a beard. Before season there where 2 older Toms (2yr old), 4 last year jakes (1yr) and three hens. I hope all three are successful. Last year one was successful with 2 hens and 4 jakes.

I harvested my first bearded hen this year. She was a smaller bodied hen. Had a little over a 6 inch beard.
