I fixed my wife a MOTHER'S DAY CULINARY DELIGHT.
We had farm fresh eggs scrambled, Portabella Mushrooms cut up and sauteed in butter.
I grilled wild picked asparagus wrapped with maple flavored bacon and boiled so sweet corn.
I sauteed in butter wild caught Lake Erie Walleye cheeks.
Throw in some lightly toasted French bread with orange juice and you had a meal fit for a QUEEN.

Looks awesome.
Kinda beats our trip to Golden Coral, but no complaints received. 😇

Wild picked asparagus? I've never heard of that, do they grow in patches or stand alone?

Wild picked asparagus? I've never heard of that, do they grow in patches or stand alone? You will find a plant or 6 growing together. It's easiest to find them in July/August, mentally mark where they are at and go back the next Spring just as the Morels are finishing up to find them.

I might have to give that a try, that is my least favorite time to be in the woods though (July/August).

Wild picked asparagus? I've never heard of that, do they grow in patches or stand alone? We have 2 small groups that have been growing wild on our place for over 20 years. My old shift partner would spot them along interstates in the fall when they turn bright golden brown in color he would mark them on his GPS. He would return in the spring and cut them, he would put hundreds of them away every year.

Wild picked asparagus? I've never heard of that, do they grow in patches or stand alone? I honestly think your best bet is to drive the country roads slowly and you will be surprised how much you can find.

Hmmm me thinks those asparagus aren't too wild. They look the same out in the wild. Just remove the garden bed. LOL

I will be looking thos fall for patches. Pictures will help. I would look now by fall they probably will be mowed down by the owner or county mowing crews. Ditches seem to be better than flat ground or at least I see it better in ditches anyway
