I will start earlier this year, because I lost one of my main hunting areas due to heavy logging.

I actually start scouting & covering a lot of ground in sneak-mode during muzzleloader season. The deer are fairly shot-up following modern firearms season, and are using secondary travel routes & bedding areas. I file this info back in the ole memory bank for a lock-on stand location after opening weekend of gun season if necessary. A month after deer season closes I hit the woods again, as the deer are settling down & getting back to their normal patterns for this time of the year. I will also re-evaluate the local deer activity & their patterns while mushroom hunting & again while squirrel hunting. Tree stands then go-up the first of September.

I don't really scout anymore. I will on a new property, if I get permission again this season. But my Uncle's property has been my go to for well over 10 yrs. The trails don't change, I am not a monster hunter so I am not hunting a specific deer. If I go tree rat hunting I will browse around then.
