Last week I sold my canoe to HIGHCOTTON and it was great to finally meet him.
This week I drug out my 14 foot boat, trailer and a extra motor which I haven't used in 20 some years and put it out front for sale yesterday. This morning a 95 year old gentlemann drove by my house saw it and had to have it.
When he stopped and we agreed on the sale there was one problem that was ...he had an older Subaru with a very rusted never removed trailer hitch that had a 2" ball and the boat trailer was a 1 7/8" hitch.
This gentleman went home, broke out a torch and cut off the 2" ball himself. This made my day and saved me a lot of sweat and cussing. I put the 1 7/8 ball I had on his hitch and away he went.
This gentleman said he will probably never set sail in this boat but at least he has one.
I can only hope that at 95 YEARS OF AGE I can be in as good a health and spirt as him.

I don't really want to live to be 95, but if I do, I want to still be using a cutting torch!!!

Neat story and good for him!....my mom passed at 93 but was still mowing 2 acres of grass at 90. Those folks of that era are/were just plain tough.

More power to him!
I know at 84 I’m not the man I was just a few short years ago.
Back in 2019 I could work 6 hours a day 4 or 5 days a week on Habitat for Humanity home builds. That was not easy carpenter work, sometimes in less than ideal weather conditions
Now, 3 or 4 hours puttering around the yard wears me out. A 1/4 mile walk into my stand is now a couple of catch my breath stops instead of walking all the way to the stand.
We all just keep on keeping on as long as the good Lord let’s us.
